Thank you for partnering with the Nebraska 4D Barrel Racing Association (NE4D) to approve your event. It is producers such as yourself who promote barrel racing across Nebraska by providing quality events for our members to compete in.

Approving and Reporting Process for NE4D Approved Events

1.     Please call or text Beth Baxter at 308-440-3776 or via Messenger to determine if the date(s) of your event can be approved by the NE4D. We want to ensure there aren’t other NE4D approved events within 100 miles of your event to reduce the likelihood of multiple events competing for entries on the same day.

2.     Once you receive approval, please complete the NE4D Event Approval Application, scan and email to Beth Baxter at or text Beth at 308-440-3776. The NE4D Event Approval Application can be found on the NE4D website at www.ne4d.com in the Producers tab. The NE4D will also email you the application to complete. The information provided in the application assists us in promoting your barrel race on the NE4D website and Facebook page.

3.     The NE4D approval fee is $1.00 for each Open and Youth (if a Youth class is offered) entry during your event. This ensures both our open and youth members have as many opportunities to qualify for the NE4D Finals as possible. If offering a Peewee class, you do not pay $1 per entry in that class to the NE4D.

4.     Please feel free to post your event information on the Nebraska 4D Barrel Racing Association Facebook page (it will initially state “approval pending” and then one of the administrators will approve and it will be posted on FB. This FB page is used only for NE4D approved events and related information.

5.     Please have 2025 NE4D memberships available at your event so that interested individuals can join the NE4D, run at your event and be qualified to compete in the 2025 NE4D Finals. Membership forms can be found on the NE4D website in the Membership tab.  

Please have the contestant pay the membership fee separately from the entry fee. If paying by check, please have him/her write a separate check for the membership.

2025 Memberships run from October 1, 2024 through September 30, 2025. 

6.     When promoting a multi-date or double run barrel race, please identify the one(s) approved by the NE4D.

7.     Within 7 days of the completion of your event, please mail the approval fee of $1 for each Open and Youth entry to Beth Baxter, 6805 46^th Ave, Kearney, NE 68845. Please make check payable to NE4D. The $1 awards fee is taken out of the funds held from the entry fee. Only the $1 award fee goes to the NE4D to purchase awards for the NE4D Finals in October.

8.     Within 7 days after the completion of your event, also email your complete results, preferably in Excel format, to Beth Baxter at At a minimum, please include placing, contestant name, horse’s name, time and amount won, Please include everyone entered as we use this information to verify that contestants have competed in at least one NE4D approved event as a member to qualify to compete in the NE4D Finals.

9.     Within 7 days of the completion of your event, please mail completed memberships along with the membership fees to Corrie Walthers, 47299 785^th Road, Loup City, NE 68853.

Quick Facts to Consider

Ø  The NE4D Finals are held the third (3^rd) weekend of October.

Ø  For individuals to compete at the NE4D Finals they must have purchased a current membership and competed in at least one NE4D approved event in the corresponding class as a member.

Ø  There is a requirement of at least 100 miles between approved NE4D approved barrel races on the same day to reduce competition for entries for multiple events. 

Ø  The NE4D will approve out-of-state barrel races that are within 25 miles of the Nebraska state line.

Ø  NE4D approved barrel races are open to members and non-members. No additional non-member fee will be charged. Non-members can compete at approved barrel races but are not eligible to compete at the NE4D State Finals Saturday and Sunday classes. Non-members may compete in the Friday night NE4D Finals Warm-Up Race.

Ø  Barrels must conform to a standard 55 gallon barrel.

Ø  Electronic timers must be used.

Ø  NE4D Finals Qualification: To qualify for the NE4D Finals an individual must have purchased a current NE4D membership and compete in at least one NE4D approved event as a member. The NE4D competition year begins October 1^st and runs through September 30^th. Individuals 14 and older must purchase an Open membership. If a youth (13 years of age or younger as of January 1, 2025) wants to compete in the Youth class at the NE4D Finals they must have purchased a Youth membership and competed in at least one Youth class as a member at a NE4D approved event. If a youth also wants to compete in the Open during the NE4D Finals, they must also purchase an Open membership and compete in at least one Open class at a NE4D approved event as an Open member. Most events allow Youth to roll to the Open. Approved events are  not required to use the NE4D Youth and Peewee age ranges.

Ø  If a Peewee wants to compete in the 2025 NE4D Finals, they must be 7 years of age or younger as of January 1, 2025 and have purchased a Peewee membership. At the Finals a child 7 years or younger can choose to compete in the Peewee or Youth class; however, they can compete in only one of these classes. To compete in the Youth, a child must have a Youth membership.
